Viral formats of trending reels you should try out
Use a frame overlay with everyday scenes
Frames are trending on Instagram reels. If you’re wondering how to make them, I have made them for you!
Cinematic split screen with a detailed caption
Use 3 video clips from the same setup/location to create a split-screen edit.
The 3 clips should be related to each other so that they tell a story.
Write a title over the video and continue the information from the title to the caption.
Here’s how you can edit a split-screen video in InShot.
Scrolling video effect – horizontal or vertical
You can either get a Capcut template for this or learn to do this on your own.
By learning how to make this, you can customize the speed and direction to give it your unique twist.
This scrolling effect will surely make people stop doom-scrolling and look at your Instagram reel.
Here’s how you can create this effect using keyframes right on your phone.
Lyrical video on a trending song
Find a trending song or a song that suits your reel the best.
Add the lyrics of the song to your video.
Use a font that is easy to read, preferably in the color white or yellow.
Install new fonts in the Inshot app to truly make the video look cinematic. There are many websites from which you can find fonts that are free to use. Some of these are:
- DaFont
- Fontspace
- 1001freefonts
- fontfabric
You can also use a frame along with the lyrics. But in this case, remember to put the lyrics outside the frame and not inside.
It’s more easy to read when the text is outside the video on a black background.
Reels with doodled text on it
You can make your doodles on the iPhone. If you’re not good at drawing, check out my set of 20 doodle texts that come with 4 frames for Instagram reels as well.
It has various doodles that will make your reels look aesthetic. Names of places in Hindi, little quotes along with doodled shapes that look super cute.
Every time I post a reel with a doodle on it, I get so many comments asking about it.
