Creator Shop, as the name suggests, will be the creator’s own shop where they can sell merchandise and other products of their own.

Mark Zuckerberg says that the plan is to make it simpler for the creators on Instagram to either open up a new shop or add their existing shop to their Instagram profiles.

Creators on Instagram who already have a shop where they sell products

can link their externally hosted shop to their profile, both personal and business. This will be available globally.

And those who want to create a new shop of their own

can do so by linking their account to the merchandising partners of Instagram, such has, Bravadao/UMG, Spring, Fanjoy, and Represent. This will be available for a few eligible creators in the United States by the end of the year.

2. Affiliate Commerce

In the affiliate commerce program, the creators can earn through a commission earned on sales.

Brands will set a commission rate. Whenever there’s a sale made from the creator’s affiliate product link, a small amount will be paid to the creator by the brand.

The same way Amazon affiliate works.

An affiliate product link will have a label on it that tells the people that the creators would be earning from the sales made.

3. Branded Content Marketplace

The branded content marketplace is similar to TikTok’s Creator Marketplace.

It will help brands find Instagram influencers whose reach and audience fall into their target group of audience.

“If we can help with matchmaking, we can help drive more dollars to the smaller creators who can do amazing work for brands.”

No exact details were shared on how deals might be structured, but Zuckerberg said they offer “very favorable terms” to creators.

With tools that support creators financially, it’s clear that Instagram is moving in the e-commerce space and committed to helping creators accomplish their goals.
