That being said, there are some basic requirements that your Instagram profile should fulfil:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a government-issued ID that matches your name and picture
- Have two-factor authentication set up
- And more
The application process for getting verified on Instagram
There are two ways of getting verified on Instagram- apply for the verification badge or subscribe to Meta Verified.
Method #1: Apply for an Instagram Verification Badge
To begin with, you should have a notable Instagram account through you which you’re planning to apply for Instagram verification.
Your account should be highly searched for.
In order to apply for the verification, here’s what you have to do.
Go to the Instagram app and open your profile.
Go to Settings > Account > Request Verification.
Fill up all of the details asked, such as your full name, an identification document, and links to your mentions on social media/news articles.
Add info about what kind of well-known identity you are and the country you’re from.
And that’s it! Hit submit and wait for a response. It can take up to 30 days.
If your request gets rejected, you can re-apply in 30 days.
Quick note: Instagram can take down your verification badge if you violate the community guidlelines and terms of use, sell your verified account or switch between private & public profile too often.

Method #2: Subscribe to Meta Verified
Meta Verified is a subscription that comes with a verification badge. It is currently available in Australia and New Zealand and costs $11.99 (USD) a month on the web and $14.99 (USD) a month on iOS and Android systems.
