The distance between your GOAL and you is THIS MOMENT of doubt
When I first created my blog on WordPress.com in 2016, I got 10 views on my first post in a week. What was the post about? Just a random quote I made with no pictures, tags, titles or SEO. I had no idea what a blog or blogging was and yet I had created myself a blog named ‘GarimaWrites’.
Those 10 views didn’t matter to me because I didn’t think of building an audience and getting my blog famous. Actually, I treated it as an Instagram account for good 2-3 months.
Good for you that now blogging has become so popular that you probably have all the needed basic knowledge about it. You know it is a platform that can be used to share your views and monetize it to make money on the way.
Don’t doubt your ability. You’ve created a masterpiece to the best of your abilities, not to the best of everybody’s abilities. If you trap yourself in thinking it is not good enough, nobody is going to read it anyway, there are so many people out there better than me etc. I’m going to tell you that you are absolutely right.
But the sole purpose of your writing and publishing your content online should be to give yourself a chance to learn and to fail. Test your skills and learn along the path. Nobody’s reading? Great! Feel free to do mistakes. Everybody’s reading? Great! You have a voice and people are recognizing it. Allow yourself to fail.
Allowing yourself to fail, take responsibility and feel upset about it
Giving up is not a step you take after a failure. I’ve had times when I spent hours reading about a topic, drafting a blog post and when I hit the publish button, no response.
You might not always get the results you expected but that doesn’t mean you need to stop doing it and go find something else to do!
Failures come and go. What you can learn from each failure is how to handle the next one better. Feeling upset is as human as it can get. You can’t feel positive about everything. Allow yourself to be upset but not indefinitely. Let your emotions flow and then have them under your control.
Analyze the situation with a calm mind, what could’ve been in a better way? You need, need to fail to be able to truly appreciate the success.
If there are things you’re having trouble with, which are hindering your journey to your goal, write them down. List all the problems down on a paper and dissect them like a medical student dissects a frog. What caused them, what will help them go, what you need to do for it.
Obsession is not always bad
I often can’t sleep because there is just too much going on in my mind. I’m already pumped up about what I’m going to write about the next day. At such moments, sleep isn’t something that can stop you.
If you’re passionate about something, at some point in your life, you will be obsessed with it. It is inevitable. If you’re not, then you need to rethink. If it doesn’t excite you every morning to work harder then is it worth doing in the first place?

Surround yourself with people who push you up GENUINELY
This is really important. People who give you negative vibes and make you think you’re not worth it, just have to leave your circle. You shouldn’t have time to explain it to others how passionate you’re about something. Your circle should understand it on their own.
It’s not easy to let go of people like that. My circle has become way shorter than it was two years ago, but it has grown so much more in quality. I surround myself with people who inspire me to hustle harder, see the potential in myself and not worried about being judged.
This simple step can make a huge difference.
Need motivation? VISUALIZE yourself succeeding
Visualize the immense happiness, contentment you’ll feel when you’ve reached your goal after making it through the rollercoaster of successes and failures. Feels great, right?
Now, how bad you want it to be true? You need to believe in yourself more than anyone else. No one is going to take responsibility for your failures. You’ve to take them. And when you succeed, its all your OWN!
I’ve been reading the book ‘The Power of your Subconscious Mind’ by Dr Joseph Murphy over the past few days and it has worked almost magically for me. I have learned how to calm myself down every night when I go to sleep. How to visualize my goals for the next day and let my subconscious mind know that I have what it takes to succeed and I will.
Your first piece of the cake, TASTES THE BEST
I got my first invitation to an event as a Blogger at the beginning of 2017 by Lemon Tree Hotels. It was one hell of a rush of emotions! Suddenly, all those minor setbacks feel nothing compared to this one achievement that you just witnessed. This rush, is your fuel to burn harder from now on.
And from that day to this, I’ve promised myself to post every day. Fail every day. Learn every day. It is better to go for it and fail rather than sit weighing your options, watching the time slip away.
I’m not saying I’ve reached my goal, but I have covered a distance for which I would pat myself on the back because nobody can push up you higher than you yourself.
