SaffronStays The Hill Abode: Best Luxury Villa 5 Hours Away From Delhi

The Hill Abode Villa by SaffronStays is around 30 km away from the Kalka Railway Station. It’s near Kasauli.

It’s a one-hour drive that costs around ₹1600-₹1800. Uber isn’t available in the region that easily.

When I visited, the Uber app showed that there were drivers 10-12 minutes away but failed to book one.

The local Kalka Taxi Service comes in handy. The price they quote includes toll taxes.

You can call the – SaffronStays: The Hill Abode – manager to help guide the taxi driver about the route.

Kalka felt somewhat like Delhi (in March 2025), but as the taxi went up the mountains towards The Hill Abode, the weather got colder.

Where is it exactly?

The property manager will send you the exact location on WhatsApp. You can follow it while in the taxi.

Do call them when you’re about to arrive so that the caretaker can come to help you with the luggage.

SaffronStays The Hill Abode is a beautiful luxury villa nestled in the hills of Kumarhatti.

It’s downhill from the main road so you might not see it from the car while driving.

Inside the property

It was super sweet tbh.

The interiors are modern yet cozy with nature-inspired decor.

You will find a lot of open spaces within the villa to enjoy working or relaxing in fresh air and sunshine.

There’s ample amount of seating in the open balconies for families. It’s also a great spot to have your meals.

The living room has a 55-inch TV which comes with Netflix, Prime, etc to enjoy movies with your loved ones.

There’s a vintage fireplace, a heater, a pool table, and board games to keep yourself entertained.

The Hill Abode Villa has 3 bedrooms, one on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor. Every room has an attached washroom.

The family room on the first floor has an attic space that the kids and adults will love alike. It boasts a beautiful view of the valley.

All you can hear is the birds chirping and the wind blowing through the pine trees.

Driver accommodation is available and only one driver can be accommodated. Charges for the same are Rs. 1500 per person, per night. This is inclusive of three meals.

I even spotted a woodpecker, my first encounter! It’s truly a calming experience. Perfect to cleanse yourself of the city’s fast-paced life.

Free parking is available onsite. Up to 3 cars can be parked.

About the food

Here’s almost everything I ate at The Hill Abode

The in-house chef and caretaker are really sweet. They take care of all your needs.

They have a menu you can order from. You’ve to inform them about your next meal’s preference in advance since they source fresh vegetables as per the guest’s needs.

In breakfasts, I tried – Cheese omelet, cold coffee, tea, chhole bhature, cold veggie sandwiches.

In lunches & dinners, I had – Kadhai paneer, dal tadka, chili chicken gravy, raita, chili potato, hakka noodles & fried rice.

You also get evening snacks around 4-6 PM.

Do opt for barbeque and bonfire at sunset. It feels surreal to sit by the bonfire and enjoy the hot barbeque paneer tikkas, mushrooms, chicken, and fish.

Outside food is not allowed. Guests are not allowed to access the kitchen. However, mothers of infants or small children will have limited access to boil milk or prepare their kids meals.
