I had the honour to be invited to the Niti Aayog Women Transforming India Awards 2018 held on 16 December 2018 at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra.
This was the third edition of the online contest launched and organized by NITI Aayog and the United Nations in India. The first edition was in the year 2016.
The contest felicitates women entrepreneurs who have made an impact on the community through their initiatives.
According to the Sixth Economic Census released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, women constitute only 14% of the total entrepreneurship in India.
It comes as no surprise that women have to walk down the harder road for the same destination in this gender biased world.
