Let’s get into it and I’ll break it down in the easiest way.
How to install LUTs in DaVinci Resolve
Open the DaVinci Resolve software on your desktop and open any project, or start a new one.
Now, what you need to do is find the davinci resolve luts folder.
Click on the settings icon on the bottom-right of your screen.
In the window that pops up (see the screenshot above), go to Color Management.
See the last button in the Lookup Tables section. Click on Open LUT folder to access it.
Now simply copy-paste the LUTs that you want to install into your DaVinci Resolve software.
How to adjust the opacity of the LUT
What if you want to reduce the opacity/intensity of the LUT you’ve applied on your video?
Here’s how you can do it. Using this method you can adjust the intensity of any correcter node.
Click on the corrector node that has the LUT or any corrector node who opacity you want to adjust.
When a node is selected it will have an orange border appear around it. (see the screenshot above)
Check out the options in the bottom-left section. Click on the rectangle icon that has a white/grey dual color on it. (highlighted above)
When it becomes active, 3 options will appear- Key Input, Key Output, and Qualifier.
In order to adjust the intensity, all you have to do it go to the gain under Key Output and decrease it’s value from 1 to decrease the opacity. That’s it!
