After a recent update, the chronological Instagram feed is finally back! Users had been asking for it for quite some time now.
In the latest update, you don’t get one, but 3 different ways are available – Home, Following & Favorites.

Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, revealed today why they’re making the change:
“We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction.”

What are the 3 kinds of feeds?
Home Feed (Main)
The home feed is the same feed that you’ve been seeing until now.
It is generated by Instagram’s algorithm and doesn’t show posts in chronological order.
Following Feed
The following feed will be a chronological Instagram feed.
All of the posts from the account you follow are shown on the basis of their time of posting.

Favorites Feed
The favorites feed is also a chronological Instagram feed but with posts, only from the accounts, you’ve added as your favorites.
How to make an account your favorite?
By adding an account to your favorites, you’re telling Instagram that you don’t want to miss a post from them.
Posts from the accounts you’ve added to your favorites list will also be shown higher in your home feed, they will be prioritized over others.
This feed will consist of content from up to 50 accounts of your choosing — like your family or favorite creators.

Posts from accounts in Favorites will also show up higher in your Home feed, giving them an extra visibility boost while you’re scrolling.
In order to switch between the 3 feeds, simply go to your home feed and click on the Instagram logo.
