If you follow me on Instagram, you’d know that flatlays are a major part of my photography style. And since the month of December has begun, I’ve had Christmas all over my mind!
Flatlay Photography is all about telling a story, a theme, your vision that you had while creating the image to the person who sees your flatlay picture.
A flatlay might look like some things are just randomly thrown together but it’s much more than that.
It takes an artistic eye to compose an aesthetic, pleasant composition with just the right number of props in your flatlay photo.
Let’s look at some Christmas props for flatlays that you can easily get from Amazon.

1. Snowflake-shaped LED Lights
LED lights that are in the shape of snowflakes scream Christmas! Use them in your Christmas flatlays, hang them in the background if you’re taking a picture from the front for an added oomph!
I would recommend using a darker shade of color as the backdrop so that your snowflake LED light can stand out against it. For example, use a textured dark blue or black backdrop like this one – black wooden backdrop & black textured backdrop.

2. Christmas Tree Baubles (Gold)
Baubles can be used in a variety of ways. You can obviously decorate a Christmas tree with them but also use them as a prop in flatlays. They double up as a subtle touch of Christmas when taking product shots like this –
3. Reindeer Tea Light Holder
How cute are these tea light holders?
They come in black color but you can get creative and paint them however you like if you want to. Paint them shiny gold or subtle white according to the picture you’re planning to shoot.

4. Garland String Light
What can be better than LED light that already comes with a green garland attached to it?
It is battery-powered and made of copper wires, so it is flexible enough to place or shape it to however you like. It has 30 LEDs and is 3 meters long.
You can make concentric circles with it and make a Christmas wreath out of it.
5. Brown wrapping paper
You might already have this, but if not, you can get this brown wrapping paper for Rs. 299 on Amazon.
Pack any empty box you have with this and use 50m jute thread/ribbon like this one that is available for Rs. 149. Pair with small artificial berries, cinnamon sticks, small pinecones, etc. and you’re all set!
