1. Have flexible times & dates for your trip
Flight tickets cost more on weekends, Mondays and Fridays. Try to keep your dates in such a way that they aren’t on weekends and festivals.
It’s obvious that tickets would cost higher on weekends, Fridays and Mondays because most people are available to fly during those days.
Finalize one thing, either the destination or the dates of your trip. If you’re flexible with both, bingo! cheap flight tickets all the way!
For example, if you’ve decided you want to visit Goa, book flight tickets just before the monsoon season.
You should because this A) Nobody goes at that time and B) Because nobody is going, the flight tickets will be cheaper!
If you’ve decided on the dates of your trip, do an open search with just your dates entered and keeping the destination as ‘anywhere’ and then sort the results by lowest to highest pricing.
You can do this easily on Skyscanner.
Try to visit places in the off-season. The more flexible you are with your plan, the more are the chances that you will find more affordable flight tickets.
Here’s one thing you can do:
Step 1: Go to Google Flights
Step 2: Enter your departure city and the date. You’ll now see prices for different destinations on those dates.
2. Try different search engines
You should try searching for flight tickets on multiple search engines to find cheap flight tickets.
Many popular search sites won’t show you all of the available carriers because those airlines don’t pay a commission to them.
Each search site has its pros and cons.
Try out a few and compare the pricing. Here are a few websites you can check the flight ticket prices on:

In order to use this method, the first step is to find out the cost of the flight ticket if you take a direct flight to your destination. Note it down.
Now, go to Google Flights, type out your destination city and see the prices at airports that are close by.
If the difference is big enough, you should consider taking a flight from the second airport to your final destination city.
