One of the first countries to receive the smartphones on April 13 were Australia, Canada and China among others. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Editions will be available to buy in India in May.
“This special edition (PRODUCT) RED iPhone features a stunning red and black colour combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Vice President of Product Marketing, earlier said in a statement.
How does your purchase make a difference?
Apple has had a partnership with (RED) from the past 11 years, supporting HIV/AIDS programs. Apple claims to have raised over $160 million through the sale of our (RED) products. With every (PRODUCT)RED purchased, a contribution is sent to the Global Fund which uses 100% of this money to finance HIV/AIDS programs. This helps people affected by HIV in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia.
